Static moments on the Shroppie

Moored Audlem, Shropshire Union Canal

Future plans have been put on hold for now as Meg’s poorly paw still will not heal and she is having to visit the vet every other day for special treatment.  She cut her pad 3 weeks ago and it just won’t knit.

It is very difficult to find vets the other side of Gnosall within easy distance of the canal.  Well there are plenty, but finding buses close by to get to them becomes difficult.  Another thing that I have found is that Vet’s are now tending to have larger premises and have moved to the outskirts of the towns and villages making it difficult for non car uses to visit them.

Meg needs not to use her paw at all at this time, so the shortest distance possible has to be looked at.  Tomorrow we are off to Nantwich by bus again, then we will move to Market Drayton visiting the vet there before moving on to Gnosall.  It remains to be seen how long I have to do this every other day thing before she is signed off into my care.

But for sure, I can’t take any chances by not using the vets while it is so critical.

We were moored at the very bottom of the locks on the embankment and have moved up to the visitor moorings so to be closer to the bus stop..

Keeping myself busy enough though, there are Christmas presents to think about as well as a bit of a filing drill.. where does all that paper come from!  Whether it is my age or what, but mail from home is just like a mountain.. stuff from places like Saga and Insurance companies that want me to invest for my funeral and the like.. but it won’t make me feel old.. what is old anyway!?

It was nice to meet one of the blog readers yesterday.. Merry helped us through the lock by the Shroppie Fly.. Thanks Merry.. Oh and hope you got your dongle sorted in Crewe today too!

Guess what?  We are going skiing next year.. yep, that wasn’t a typo, skiing.. like I said, what is old anyway!!!
