Tip tap on the computer at Calveley

Moored Calveley, Shropshire Union Canal

We were going to Chester today!

The forecast for us looked as if we would get a fairly good day, but by 10 o’clock this morning it was obvious that our plans would be put on hold for quite a while.  The rain was absolutely tipping down for most of the day, and the only window we got was late this afternoon when Lucy and Meg finally got a short walk.

I have been busy today on the computer.  I have been doing something that I have been meaning to do for three years.  I have had lots of emails and requests to do a guide to the River Nene, Middle Levels and River Great Ouse, Gloria has been on the phone “We need your guide to decide whether to get our Gold Licence”

Gloria has a border collie you see, and is worried about places to walk.. well I have tried to design a page that helps with moorings and walking, plus useful information for anyone boating in that area from a boaters point of view.

Have a look at what I have done so far… ——>linky

There is a long way to go yet, but once I get the format then the rest is easy as I know the rivers so well.

I would appreciate feedback on what you think, and also any ideas that would make it better.  I have just given facts as far as I can rather than look at it actually cruising if you see what I mean.

I don’t want to spoil the river by giving information about watch out for this or that, or the best thing to do is whatever, that is for explorers to find out for themselves!

Tomorrow instead of going to Chester we will be turning round.. that should be fun!
