Start stop at Gnosall then on to Norbury Junction
Gnosall to Norbury Junction, Shropshire Union Canal, 2.25 miles 0 locks
Engine on, ropes on, dogs on, throttle on… ooops.. throttle off engine off ropes off….
Great start to the morning yesterday. A carpet must have come down with the flow of the canal and settled at the back of the boat.. once the prop turned it ate it up for breakfast!
I think that was our shortest ever cruise all of 10 yards! It took quite a bit of cutting off too, and looked as if it had already been around many props during it’s time. Well it won’t happen to another boat as I rolled it up and put it in the bin once we had got to the BW yard at Norbury..

It’s very quiet here although the boat fleet is in as you can see.. hey Adam there is Debdale.. But Shebdon Embankment is open, it opened yesterday, there will be more boats on the move through here now no doubt. The towpath telegraph say that there is still a leak.. not information from British Waterways but from the contractors who managed to finish the job on time. It remains to be seen if it is going to have to be shut again..
Tomorrow morning Norbury Boatyard will start to refit the back half of No Problem, starting with pine tongue and groove going on the walls instead of the drab washable vinyl wall paper.. ideal for a hireboat but not for me…
We will be here for a couple of weeks, so I though during that time I would go back over the years of this blog and perhaps take you back in time to some of my fondest and favourite moments as well as memories of some of the canals and places we have visited..
