Christmas music in Stafford

Cowley to Gnosall, Shropshire Union Canal, 1.5 miles 0 locks

Spent the weekend at Cowley, we like the mooring there, ‘tis quiet, and there are plenty of walks for the two dogs.

Did a bit more of the woodstaining and varnishing as well, so wasn’t totally lazy all weekend, oh and found a couple of geocaches that had been planted recently around this area.

I went into Stafford this morning, it was very busy and all the shops had Christmas music on.  Vic wanted a pair of thick gloves, like gardening gloves for doing the logging, but Wilkinsons had done away with their gardening department and replaced that with all Christmas decorations and stuff.

I had a ‘live’ look around at the bits and pieces I had picked out as Christmas presents for the grandchildren.  It’s great that I can order it all on the internet, probably find some discounts to pay less for it, and have it delivered ‘dan saff ready for me to wrap up when I arrive there for Christmas.  Yep, for sure what I had chosen looked nice ‘live’!

I was sorry to read on Granny that Mike of NB Phoenixx had died.  I met him at Fradley in October 2005, and was invited aboard for a coffee.  He lived alone at that time, and I remember he had just cleared up after accidently letting off one of his fire extinguishers the previous day.. White stuff everywhere apparently.  I remember he had an awesome sound system on his narrowboat, and I pulled down a guitar off his wall and strummed a while, smashing guy.... Ah well.. sad.

That program about the queen has just started, I think I will switch this comp off and watch that… those corgies, surely they can’t be the original ones?  Ha, we never hear when one dies do we?
