Digital camera fun.. but useful too at Kintbury!

Moored Kintbury, Kennet and Avon Canal

Now see, we didn’t move again today, although I thought we might do.. well a final push with some bits and bobs to be done on No Problem like fitting that last cabinet in the galley.. sorting which bits of flooring were needed before ditching the rest.. unpacking the new mattress and the washing machine so that the packaging can be left at the bins here.. oh so much to do!!..

I managed to wash one side of one narrowboat today.. No Problem got the first treatment.. did the roof and one side.. I can’t believe how dirty she was and such a long boat to have to clean off too.. but I got the shammy out and to be honest she looked a treat after I had finished.  Both boats are still extremely dirty since being at Devizes Marina.  They do a lot of sandblasting there and the stuff goes everywhere.. it is going to take some time to clear all that from the two boats, plus the towpaths are now very dusty.  A posse of 4 bikes went thundering by yesterday leaving a huge cloud of dust which also settled on the boats.. could really do with a days rain to wash it all off.

But hey, the camera had a good use today.. we needed to design a ladder to get up and down from the top bunk when then grandchildren arrive on Saturday.. ladders.. how do you make a ladder!!.. well over a couple of cuppas we have a plan.. but we need a hook!..  Now try describing a hook to those ‘dan saff’ and that can become very difficult.. but a digital camera comes into its own with a pic of exactly what is required..

Can’t go wrong can they?   At least living in Portsmouth there are plenty of nautical shops to get a couple of those!..

So there you go Wends when you read this blog tomorrow morning this is what is required .. 2 please, of that size, doesn’t have to be exactly the same but something similar.. ta xx .. I do hope the comment that will follow will be ladylike!!

Lucy was a bit miffed this morning.. no walk for her, but I did take her this evening, and we met some wildlife that made me smile.. now then is this a seagull cross?  Or a goose?  When it squawked it sounded like a goose.. but for sure it had that sort of hooked beak of a seagull.. very odd one this..

Oh from this pic you can’t really gauge the size, but this is bigger than a duck by half again.

Further on Lucy is very interested as to what is going on over on the far side of the canal and wanted to go swimming to go over there to have some fun..

If you squint you can just about see what she is looking at.  Now this is where a digital camera really comes into it’s own, because I can now show you with a quick zoom of the lens what she was so interested in….

Ha, they seem just as interested in Lucy!!!
