Upstream to St Neots again..

Brampton Mill to St Neots, River Gt Ouse, 8 miles 3 locks

The vet is keeping Lucy until Saturday at least, so we have decided to go back to St Neots to be near to hand.  We left early this morning just after the rain stopped and were lucky with the first two locks, both being in our favour, but arrived at St Neots Lock just as the guillotine had been dropped and the top paddles opened.. it takes ages to ‘do St Neots’, in fact from the time we arrived on the lock mooring to the time we left the lock heading upstream it was 55 minutes.. but there was no rush..

Lucy’s op seems to have been successful, well that’s what the vet said, and Vic and I went to visit her this evening.. she was pleased to see us, but not so pleased that we didn’t take her home.  I reassured her that another night would be good for her.. she was on a drip, but already moving the hip.. although not really wanting to put any weight on it.

If all is well this evening we have been told we can pick her up in the morning and bring her home..
